The Mystery of Iniquity

“For the mystery of iniquity doth already work...with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved,” 2 Thessalonians 2:7-10.

The mystery of iniquity is that men loved not the truth,

“And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie,” 2 Thessalonians 2:11.

This mystery began in the Garden of Eden. Satan's first sermon placed God's Word in the balances with humanistic reasoning saying,

“Ye shall not surely die...ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil,” Genesis 3:4-5.

Since that dreadful fall from the image of God, natural man has claimed a position equal with God, with the right to decide what is good, and what is evil, bartering the Word of God for human reasoning.

This bartering of the Word of God was the sin the Apostle Paul was dealing with in his letter to the Romans where he wrote,

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness,” Romans 1:18.

This is clear from verse 25,

“Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.”

God sends His judgments upon this sin that they might receive “...in themselves that recompense which was meet,” and what was that judgment?

“For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly,” Romans 1:26- 27.

We read in 2 Samuel 24:15-17 that when the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, the destroying Angel slew seventy thousand men with His judgments through pestilence. The wrath of God is clearly revealed from heaven against our nation today.

To this date, the destroying Angel of the Lord has destroyed over twenty one million, with His judgments through reprobate minds.

“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind,” Romans 1:28.

A reprobate mind is a mind void of sound judgment.

Oh, beloved, what a mystery, that the eyes of our nation can be so blinded to such iniquity! The modern technology in our nation makes it possible to watch a baby sleep, awake, freely move its arms and legs and suck its thumb twelve weeks after conception.

How is it possible that such multitudes believe that a fetus is only tissue, and not a human life, when God's Word in Psalm 139:12-14, and such undeniable evidence through modern technology establish that life begins at conception?

The mystery of iniquity is that men loved not the truth,

“And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who love not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness,” 2 Thessalonians 211-12.

These lusts, vile affections and slaying through a reprobate mind are not the sins of our nation, but they are God's judgments which He has sent to reveal His wrath upon the sin of

“…changing His truth into a lie,” Romans 1:18-32.

Oh, beloved, pray that this nation might repent of this sin, that God might remove such sore judgments. Amen.

REPENT, awakened souls, repent;
Hear the good tidings God has sent,
Of sinners saved, and sins forgiven,
And beggars raised to reign in heaven.
