The Glory of God Seen in Jesus Christ (Continued)

That Same Christ Is Predicted To Return In Glory.

·         He will sit on his throne in judgment (Mt 25:31);

31When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.

·         Evil will be punished

·         Matthew 16:27

27 For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.

·         Matthew 24:30

30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

·         Mark 13:26; Luke 21:27

26 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

·         2 Thessalonians 2:9–10

9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

·         Those who have professed him before men need not fear his glorious appearing (Mk 8:38).

38 For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”

·         At the consummation, the whole earth will be filled with his glory

·         Psalm 72:19

19 And blessed be His glorious name forever!
And let the whole earth be filled with His glory.
Amen and Amen.

·         Isaiah 6:3

3 And one cried to another and said:
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts;
The whole earth is full of His glory!

·         Hebrews 2:14

14 Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,

·         No longer will a glory cloud rest above a temple to mark the Holy Place, for there will be a new heaven and a new earth (Rev 21:1).

Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.

·         The Holy City will have the radiance of the glory of God (Revelation 21:10–11)

10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 11 having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal.

·         Christ portrays God in a unique way, for He, unlike any prophet, is God.

·         The prophets could only portray God through words, types, and figures.

·         Christ could portray God in Himself, for He was

the express image of his [God’s] person,”

·         and He reflected the brightness of his glory in His transfiguration.

·         Furthermore, Jesus said,

“He that hath seen me hath seen the Father” (John 14:9).

·         If you saw Jesus, you saw God.

·         No prophet could portray God like that.
